Charity magazine Third Sector has published details of an investigation into pay at Which?
It reveals pay this year of £819,000 for chief executive Peter Vicary Smith and £722,000 for managing director of Which? Publishing Chris Gardner. Which? publishes a monthly magazine and website which is available to members only as well as other titles.
Third Sector reveals in its report that Which? repeatedly refused to reveal pay for its top stuff to Third Sector and then published the figures itself, ahead of publication, as part of its first ever mid-year review. The monthly magazine reveals that the report was provided (apparently exclusively) to The Times and that Which? chair Tim Gardam declined to comment to Third Sector but did give a comment to The Times.
